WOW…I mean *really* WOW!  Week 2 a la Guy of Gisborne was incredible.  The reports of kindnesses really do lift the spirits in an amazing ways – thanks to all who participated and congratulations again to the winner of the hand beaded by Jazzy bracelet:  zeesmuse!

For this week’s drawing, I tried my hand at a little jewelry making in honor of Lucas North.

Lovely Lucas Locket

This locket is fully reversible.  Filled with jewels reflecting Lucas’ baby blues, worn one way there is a tiny image of the spy himself.  Turned around, you can wear Lucas against your heart and show just his initial to the world. (A lobster claw clasp makes reversing the locket simple.)  I carried the cool blue color palette to the charms and added some I thought were representative of this character.  A tiny Big Ben symbolizes his return to England after years of imprisonment and the “Hope” charm is a remembrance of one tattoo…Dum spiro spero – “While I breathe, I hope.”

The locket is hung on an 18″ (45.72cm) silver finish chain.  I’ll also include in the package some spare beads and a necklace extenders case you prefer a bit longer chain.  I think that is all the pertinent details, so without further ado, in honor of the Lovely Lucas North, bring on the kindness reports!  Good luck!!

    This is absolutely beautiful. Love what you have done there – so pretty, and yet very discreet 🙂
    1. I second Kitty’s motion. You should count your own activities on STL as kindnesses!!!
    2. One kindness from last Friday: Saw a couple of tourists with their noses in a map. Decided to stop and offer them assistance in finding their way. They were astounded that I stopped without them asking me. (Or maybe they were freaked out…)

      Thank you! After I stopped dropping all the bits, I had a lot of fun putting it all together. I was going for recognizably Lucas yet still able to fly under the general radar 🙂

        I think you have totally achieved that. Oh, and can I report a major kindness: As of today I am giving shelter to a comrade who has basically been evicted from his house. Not sure for how long, but hey, it’s (nearly) Christmas!!!

    1. I took a bar of ivory soap, shaved into a pillow case, to my friend, who is recovering from blood clots and is suffering severely from leg cramps (before you poo poo the soap notion, read this: http://www.snopes.com/oldwives/legcramp.asp ) (Hubby swears by it. I cannot attest for I do not have leg cramps)
    2. Took a venison tenderloin out of the freezer which turned out to be two tenderloins so I made enough cider braised venison stew (and a wet chocolate cake 😀 ) to invite our daughter’s family for dinner, then had so much left over, I took it to my sister & b-i-l.
    3. Our older granddaughter gave me her turkey art from school yesterday.
    4. Our younger granddaughter brought me a beautiful oak leaf (for my Thanksgiving table decor) that she picked up from the ground at the Christmas Tree lot (she was so proud).

    Reporting a fandom kindness: A fandom fairy who wishes to remain anonymous gave me 30$ to buy a gift voucher for Digital Theatre. She specified the recipient of the gift, and I have just bought the voucher and sent it off to the recipient. What a lovely gesture of the fandom fairy. All-year-round Christmas in this fandom…

        Well, I am only the facilitator. The fandom fairy who already passed on love in the summer when she gifted us a number of Crucible posters for distribution in the fandom, was active again. It’s not me. I am only the messenger. All credit to her!!!

    Hi, It is a great piece of jewelry. Lucas is on e of my most fav, I think Mr. Armitage did a fine job playing him. 😉 I think kindness comes everyday. I have so much I do and it is not just with family, but with friends too. I take care of my mom and dad here at home, I pick my cousin’s kids up from school every week as well. I cook, clean and drive my family to doc appointments and lets of other things. I have also helped older people when I see them in shopping centers when they can’t get something. I think we as humans, have hearts of gold. Some of us just do more then others, but when the chance comes around. We do our duty and go above and beyond to make this world a better place. Sorry if that was to much, I feel it needed to be said lol. 🙂

      Sarah Renee, you had me at “take care of my mom and dad here at home.” I was the main care giver for my mother, my father and my mother-in-law who lived in our home the last eight months of her life. Parenting up is never easy. It takes all the kindness you can muster to care for aging and sick – it’s what I call “doing the dirty” b/c there is nothing so lowly as changing an adult diaper or kneeling in front of your mother-in-law to remove her soiled pants while she sits on the toilet, all the while asking you who you are, resisting your ministrations. Your assessment that humans have hearts of gold is, sadly, a false statement. So many elderly people spend their days in loneliness and fear, neglected by their families who are too busy; or they are shut away in bleak nursing facilities where they spend their days and nights longing for home, wishing they could see a familiar face or get a hug from their grandchildren. You, Sarah Renee, are the exception. Don’t take your duty as the good daughter lightly; it shows your servant’s heart. You will never regret anything you have done/ are doing for your parents.
      It was during those dark years of caring for m-i-l that I discovered the work of Richard Armitage. If he only knew what his amazing talent did for me, giving me moments to escape the harsh reality of life. ((( hugs for your kindnesses toward your parents )))

        Thank you, I do this everyday. But I give myself time, try to anyway. I have made so many friends on FB , so they help me get by and so does Mr. Armitage.

      It is never too much when it’s sharing kindness. You’d be surprised how much hearing from people like you…people for whom kindness and generosity is an everyday thing…inspires others to do the same. Thanks so much for sharing it with us!

    This will hopefully make you laugh 😉 I went to pick up copies of the Empire magazine yesterday and when i looked at 1 of the 2 i bought (1 is for a friend) i realised i’d bought the elves cover in the other one! Don’t ask how it happened, i actually did self checkout so i scanned it myself and still didn’t notice although barcode is on the cover! After recovering from the fright 😉 (not of the cover but of the state of my mind currently for getting it accidentally!) i was wondering what to do about it and then i suddenly remembered somebody i know in France who would have loved to see the premiere in London but can’t and who is a massive fan of LP, so there it goes, a bit of an Xmas present and i am sure it will make them more happy that it could ever make me trying to exchange it and then gather dust on my shelf. And thus the whole week mood has been uplifted, i’m just glad it ended on a funny and happy note. Everything happens for a reason 🙂

    1. We collected our friend’s (who is recovering from back surgery / blood clots) daughters and took them w/ us to deliver the traditional Thanksgiving meal to the homeless and hotel residents.
    2. A dear friend stopped by yesterday to make a donation to our upcoming trip to Nicaragua.
    3. A sewing patron made a contribution to the Yellow Bag challenge.
    4. I’m helping Hubby install running boards on his “new” old truck (at least I’ve learned the difference between a carriage bolt and a lag bolt 😀 )
