It’s been a crazy week here so I’m a lot later getting this up than I wanted but I wanted to give you all a look at this week’s prize.
What makes this Guy-related is the text on the paper beads, verses I – XXXIX of “Robin Hood and Guy of Gisborne” from The Oxford Book of Ballads (Arthur Quiller-Couch, ed., 1910) which you can find here.
While all of the beads are strung there’s no clasp on it yet. When we choose a winner tomorrow that person is going to need to measure their wrist and then email me the size they come up with (I’ll give you directions if you need them so it isn’t too tight). We have just over 24 hours left for this giveaway so if this is the one you want comment with a kindness below or via the contact form on the About page. Have you gotten yours in yet?
This is cool – what a great idea, Jazz, and really quite discreet. Love it. And it might while away an hour or two if the lucky winner sets out to search for “Guy” on the beads. Nice style.
I know I have already fulfilled my allowance of kindnesses this week, but I just wanted to record another one. I received a parcel from a Dutch fellow fan who insisted on sending me pressies in return for the (free) badges. How nice was that?

Paper beads! What a fantastic idea. I might have to steal it!

Thanks, linnetmoss! They were pretty easy once I figured out what I was doing. 🙂 And steal away! I’d been reading about paper beads for a while but this specific idea came to me as I was reading about a woman who rolls them from the pages of books that have been otherwise destroyed and are headed for the dumpster. A truly cool recycling idea, I think.

Yes, it is brilliant! I collect beads and have made my own jewelry, but I’ve never actually made a bead. This looks like a perfect opportunity.
